Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Thursday: Cookieclub – AIR 2YR Special @ AIR

Cookieclub should be your favourite hipster student night out by now. This week’s editon won’t just be a regular Cookieclub. AIR is celebrating its two year existence with a weekender of crazy parties and line-ups. First of all, they booked none other than rising deep house star Eats Everything from the UK supported by local hero Tom Trago and resident Tettero for Thursday’s Cookieclub. AIR2 Hosted by Meisjes Zonder Smaak. Great warm-up for what is to be a very, very long weekend of dance music.

Wanna join in on the fun? Drop us your favourite deep house track as a comment on this post on our Facebook wall to win 1×2 tickets for this event. Winner announced on Thursday around noon.

Thursday: White Rabbit & Helix @ Sugar Factory

These guys have been throwing parties at Club Up for the last one and a half year. This Thursday they’re changing their strategy a bit, by moving a few doors further down Leidseplein to the Sugar Factory. With this transition they plan to bring you even more visuals, live-art, music and decorations. Who’s shining behind the decks? Breakfast Club’s Brent Roozendaal, Cartel’s Levi Verspeek and White Rabbit resident Robert Ferdinand. I heard a bunch of rumours about some crazy video-mapping activity being prepared for this one Amsterdam.

Friday: AIR Loves Minus @ AIR

As I mentioned before, AIR is hosting a monster birthday weekend. For Friday they invited the infamous minimal techno label Minus to come show how they tear a place down with their protagonists Gaiser, Ambivalent and Heartthrob (live). You might have caught Gaiser in action before there, since this will be the third time the man returns to AIR. Support comes from local heroes Freddy Spool and El Mundo & Satori are pulling an all nighter in AIR2. And we still have a long weekend ahead of us..

Again, drop us your favourite minimal techno track as a comment on this post on our Facebook wall to win 1×2 tickets for this event. Winner also announced on Thursday around noon.

Saturday: Bla Bla with Mathias Kaden @ Studio 80

Mathias Kaden is one of the most requested DJs around the world. He’s been doing it since the early 90s and is known for his love for percussion including loads of South American and African influences. This weekend he found some time in his busy touring schedule to come do a nice and long 4 hour set in the 80 after Daniel Sanchez. Support in the second area comes from Italian duo Marius Laurentiu & Andrea Big.

Saturday: 20 Jaar DJ Isis @ Paradiso

Finally, one of Amsterdam’s most legendary women in the dance scene has something to celebrate. Yes, our ex nocturnal mayor has officially been in the house for 20 years and counting. Together with the hippie-esque organization All is One she has invited some friends to come celebrate her anniversary in our cities most important pop temple Paradiso: Dimitri, Arjuna Schiks (live), Kareem Raïhani, Tommy van Huystee and Egbert-Jan Weeber. ISIS herself will be performing a 6 hour solo set. Expect lots performance acts, live art and more musicians. Go support your local legends!
