Kid Culture is one of the more exciting prospects to emerge from Amsterdam’s fertile scene at the moment. Heroes like Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Laurent Garnier, Solomun and Carl Graig are just a few of the DJs spinning his records, and 2011 gigs at Awakenings, Extrema Outdoor, Solar, Tresor, Sonar are more proof of his rising stock. His sound is hard to put a tag on, but damn funky.
This selection was made with Detroit in mind. In the early days people like Derrick May, Carl Craig, Aril Brikha, UR, Kenny Larkin inspired me big time. They learned me how to appreciate the soul in electronic music. Enjoy the ride.
