Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Soul Clap feat. Prins Thomas @ Trouw

Soul Clap, the duo that has been known to travel on a musical spaceship of dopeness that makes girls shake their butts and dudes say “oooooh” will be in town this Friday to support their new album Efunk. Soul Clap has had an extremely successful year after releasing several tracks on labels like Airdrop and Wolf + Lamb and playing all over the globe. Of course, they’re gonna sell out Trouw because they will be supported by none other than the almighty Slow Hands LIVE and nu-disco master Prins Thomas. Luckily Trouw kept around 450 tickets at the door for you.

Friday: Bedrock Night at Klinch @ Melkweg

Bedrock is John Digweed’s label. Over the years he has released over 100 singles and numerous albums and compilations. To showcase the sounds of the label, John himself, Robert Babicz, jozif, Charles Webster, Lovebirds, Melon and Tom Ruijg will be representing all electronica variating from deephouse to melodic techno behind the stages of both areas in the legendary Melkweg. This is a serious line-up for any lover of the genre featuring both veterans and fresh and upcoming talents in the genre. Sounds like a pretty classic night to me Amsterdam.

Friday: Dekmantel Soundsystem & Friends + Octave One @ Studio 80

Our friends of Dekmantel (Casper Tielrooij, Jan van Kampen & Thomas Martojo) are organizing another get-together at electronica temple Studio 80. For this occasion they’re inviting some old friends to join the party: San Proper, Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff. As if that wasn’t enough to fill a good party at the infamous Studio 80, they add a special guest to the line-up just now. Yes, all the way from Detroit, Octave One will be treating you with a live performance. Expect the best of true house orientated music. Believe me, these guys have been around the block and have reached the level of absolute house connoisseurs. Go support your local scene people.

Saturday: Ostgut Ton @ Trouw

Ahh, good old Ostgut Ton. The label that truly represents the depths of underground Berlin and its legendary clubs Berghain and Panorama Bar. Expect the best of Berlin’s raw techno to the deeper after hour house sounds brought to you by none other than Marcel Fengler, Prosumer, Nick Höppner and Boris. This has afterparty written all over it; I can’t wait for that 24 hour licence for Trouw everybody has been talking about lately. For now, we continue to party at the beach the next day.

Sunday: Diynamic Showcase @ Woodstock 69

If you didn’t manage to score tickets for Click’s Diynamic showcase at the Westerunie, this is your chance to still see some of the hottest DJ/producers of the moment on the beach. I don’t think it’s necessary to elaborate more on names such as Solomun, David August and Stimming. They basically produce every contemporary deep house hit containing low pitched bass lines with vocals. Let’s just hope it doesn’t rain all day and we don’t have to stand in line for ten minutes to score a Corona beer right? Have a good Monday.
