Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Thursday: Cassette Collectief @ Club Up

This Thursday it’s time again for you favourite vintage deep-house hipster party. Our good old friends of the Cassette Collectief stand for quality Detroit based music, slo-mo, disco, house, slow techno and lots of attractive people. This time they’ve invited Job Jobse & Luc Mast to stand behind the decks together with residents Bert de Rooij, Simon Weiss and Tick Nopp. As always, be sure to button down your Scandinavian shirt and put on your Clarks!

Friday: We Are E with John Tejada @ Studio 80

Aha! We Are E is back in Studio 80 this Friday! Former episodes featured artists like Rodriguez Jr. and Marc Romboy and this one will take the quality streak even a bit higher, with a very special live performance from none other than John Tejada! He will perform in the capital’s number one underground club for the first time. Personally, I’ve been pretty much in love with his productions ever since I heard his anthem The End Of It All back in 2007 so this show is pretty much a must. To kick it off you can expect a 3 hour set from Terry Toner, and Olivier Weiter will do the grand finale. Studio 2 hosted by 3Gram Presenteert Gramdioos.

Friday: Clone @ Trouw

Blawan had a great year, ranking no. 1 in Resident Advisor’s top 50 tracks of 2011 and all. He’s truly a producer with a clearly defined sound all of his own. I still need to figure out what he’s about, but that’s what intrigues me. He recently released on the Dutch label Clone. This Friday he’ll be doing his thing together with Dexter and Serge at the prestigious club named Trouw. Expect the best in contemporary 2step, dubstep, garage and techno.

Saturday: Next Monday’s Hangover – GARDEN OF EDEN @ Jaap Eden Hal & Club Home

First of all, let me start off with some fresh-from-the-press news: this event received a Golden Gnome for best low-budget event last Monday! Secondly, expect a 12-hour long indoor electronic music festival with an abundance of decor, acts, gimmicks and more surprises. That’s what’s happening on Saturday. You might know our parties from previous events, but this time we’re stepping it up a notch with international superstars such as Gabriel Ananda (live), Aril Brikha (live) and Solee. Of course supported by 12 hours of the best local producers and DJs around town. Party starts at 1pm, ends at 1am, but continues at Club Home until 6 in the morning my friends! Don’t be late for this one.

Sunday: Trouw Op Zondag – Kyle Hall, Giles Smith & James Priestley, Melon @ Trouw

It’s the time of the month for Trouw op Zondag again, still one of my favourite club concepts in town! You can grab a bite or do a dance with a crowd that’s a mix of people freshly off the boat and others who’ve been raving for the last 12 hours. Of course, the line-up has to be attractive too. Well, house purists will love it. All the way from Detroit, Trouw gives you Kyle Hall, supported by Giles Smith & Jason Priestley and Trouw’s loyal resident Melon. I will surely enjoy this hangover, hope you will too.
