My first impression of Cottoncake is that I’ve walked into an exclusive, but laid back women’s boutique. I’m not far off, but the vibe is much warmer and the coffee so much better than what you’ve got in mind right now. The dream of two young girls has become a reality here. “We’ve fallen in love with absolutely all of it and we just hope that every visitor does the same,” co-owner Jorinde explains with the biggest smile on her face.

Doing everything by ourselves has only made us love the place more.

It hasn’t all been giggles and squeaks though. They’ve spent the last 3 months working their asses off to fix the place up, making them definitely worthy of an official handy(wo)man’s certificate. “Lugging around in our blue overalls doing everything by ourselves has only made us love the place more,” Tessa laughs. It’s more clear than ever that all the hard work has paid off. The clean white interior still manages to keep a warm and ‘homey’ vibe.

After an extremely successful first week, their thoughts can now be aimed towards more creative ideas again. With small events and local get-togethers in the pipeline, drop by for a visit and a chat. One of the top things on my to-do list for the coming week: digging into a home-made breakfast that I can describe in no other way than scrumptious. (At least that’s what the mouth-watering picture is whispering in my left ear.)
