When I learned that Steve McQueen was going to transform the Vondelpark, thanks to Robert’s article, I felt an instant need to document it. How often does something like this happen in our city? Once standing at the park, I started to feel blue. Due to the new light bulbs, visibility was truly modified. All I could see while walking through the park where bikers and runner’s lights. It was quiet, dark, it was almost like I had stepped into a horror film, and my own shadow scared me a few times.

The artist Steve Mc Queen who actually lives and works in Amsterdam and London (Hi Steve) has had numerous exhibitions in the Tate modern, Museum of Modern Art Paris, and many more. His latest claim to fame was with the widely discussed film Shame. Mc Queen will give the city of Amsterdam a change of scenery. All of Vondelpark's street lamps will have their white light bulbs exchanged for blue ones, completely transforming the park.
