Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Thursday: Cookieclub: Invite Waifs & Strays @ Air

One of today’s hottest Hot Creations acts is coming to town on Thursday: Waifs & Strays! Yes, you might want to consider taking your Friday off, ’cause Rembrandtplein’s AIR is all about hipster deep house until 5am in the morning. Of course, the two CookieClub hosts Tettero & Rubix will be present as always. AIR2 will be entertained by the spinning models of Meisjes Zonder Smaak!

Friday: De Nachtdivisie @ Chicago Social Club

This weekend the Chicago Social Club is celebrating its first year of existence. In this first year it has grown into a popular temple for house and techno parties for clubbers in and around Amsterdam. To celebrate they’ll will be throwing a series of events this weekend, starting with the always festive Nachtdivisie. and Next Monday’s Hangover residents La Vondel & Some Chemistry will be playing a unique LIVE b2b set, and Tim & Ties & L’Atelier & Mulla will also be doing something special with a b2b2b2b2b DJ-set… that’s right, crazy sh*t! Finally, The Salvador Brothers, Specker, SHMLSS, Hellie Berry and Ici Sans Merci & Verdi will also be joining in on the fun this Friday. Don’t forget to put on your party hat!

Friday: Midnight Freaks Invites Edu Imbernon @ Air

By now, you could call the Spanish Edu Imbernon an international friend of the show for AIR’s Midnight Freaks. Edu and us have a small history together, just as we have with our Greek friend And.ID. Both of them will be shining behind the decks this Friday! Edu stands for an instant tech-house party and And.ID. proved himself to be a proper showman by rocking the trumpet LIVE at our recent F*CK NYE party. Support comes from Ferro, Prunk, Flatfish, Michael Jacques and Emilio Bestevez. Sounds like a party to me!

Saturday: Drukpers & Black Magic @ Trouw

Drukpers invites one of my personal heroes Robag Wruhme aka Gabor Schablitzki this Saturday. A beloved member of the German electronic music community and one of the members of the Wighnomy Brothers. His latest album Thora Vukk was released early May 2011 on DJ Koze’s Pampa Records and has been on repeat for a long while on my iPod. Robag is also known as a member of the Kompakt family and has also been closely involved with the Jena-based Freude am Tanzen label. Basically, a well respected artist in the electronica game. Support comes from Chris Helt & Job Jobse and de Verdieping will be hosted by Black Magic who invited Ivan Smagghe and resident Patrice Bäumel. See you up front.

Saturday: Koekoek 3d @ Paradiso

Finally, Paradiso is hosting and eye-boggling event with 3D visuals & multi-dimensional music! A complete experience for the electronica lover. Three floors filled with BPMs by Tiefschwarz, Anja Schneider, Franklin Reeves and Jama on the main stage. Mike Ravelli & Miss Melera, Maarten Mittendorff & Jasper Wolff, Stevie Wonda and Pancake on the small stage and even the basement filled with many more of them disk jockeys. An extremely broad line-up with some decent international names, but the fun part is that everyone gets to wear 3D glasses for the full experience! Have a futuristic hangover Amsterdam!
