Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Thursday: RockPaperScissors @ Club Up

Whenever a new party organization with a good concept moves into a club in Amsterdam I’m always keen to let all the clubbers in our town know about it. To show Amsterdam what they’re about, RockPaperScissors invited Pete Bandit & Jason Shae to headline behind the decks at Leidseplein’s good old Club Up. Furthermore they invited classy sounding lady Hellie Berry and ASDF to finalize the night. To give you an incentive to really get on your bike and have a drink or two this Thursday, go somewhere before midnight, play a game of rock-paper-scissors and get in with a proper discount.

Friday: Air Loves Border Community @ Air

AIR recently fell in love with James Holden’s infamous label Border Community. Representing the underground sounds of the label will be Italian based Margot, showcasing with a live performance. UK based Luke Abbott will also be hitting the stage on this night, and our friends Jorn Liefdeshuis and Miss Melera will be supporting with their warm, melodic and deep mixing skills.

Don’t wanna miss out on this event? Hit us with your favourite Border Community song below this post on our Facebook wall and win 2 tickets for the feast!

Saturday: Bla Bla @ Studio 80

This Saturday won’t just be your ordinary Bla Bla club night in Studio 80. For this one they fly in none other than Russian house muse Nina Kraviz. The timing couldn’t be any better, as she just released her full length album a few weeks ago. Be one of the first crowds to experience a dumpload of new tracks through one of the finest sound systems in Amsterdam. To make it even better Radio Slave is also joining the party, all the way from the UK. Of course, Bla Bla head Daniel Sanchez will be representing the locals together with Samuel Deep b2b with Randy Delmore.

Saturday: NGHTDVSN @ Paradiso

Saturday will be the launch of the new and exciting concept from the people behind Electronation: NGHTDVSN. To launch this new concept, they chose none other than the most historical night life venue in Amsterdam, Paradiso. For this occasions, they’re offering one of the fastest rising stars in the scene today: Max Cooper. His music is an amalgamation of techno, house, electro and minimal and is best described as highly emotional electronica. Expect much more emo-electronica before him by renowned local artists like Olivier Weiter, Terry Toner and yours truly Some Chemistry.

Second area will be more housier with Berlin based producer Ruede Hagelstein and Nachtdivisie residents Prunk, Mulla, Mailman, and Tim & Ties. Finally, the intimate and cosy basement of the Paradiso will be turned into a subterranean disco area with Arturo Frizzante vs. Grhythm, SHMLSS, The Insane DJ Posse aka Hellie Berry, Nevil Rickard & Lenny Harmony.

Saturday: Cassette Collectief @ Canvas

If you’re more into intimate vintage deep-house parties, you might have to consider going to Canvas. Our friends of Cassette Collectief stand for Detroit based music, slo-mo, disco, house, slow techno and good vibes. For this first edition of their concept in Canvas (previously in Club Up), they’ve invited Awanto 3 (aka Steven de Peven), Detroit Swindle and of course residents Simon Weiss and Bert de Rooij. Four names that carefully stand for quality music. Be sure to button down your shirt and put on your Clarks.

Saturday: Groen Als Gras: “De Alpenweide” @ Undercurrent

Switzerland is probably not the first country you associate house music and massive parties with. This new indoor festival in town is bound to change this idea. Groen als Gras is bringing over Swiss house superstar Deetron and changing the Undercurrent into an Alpine heaven. Next to Deetron’s performance, expect a day filling program with quality house music from foreign DJs such as Oxia from France and Berghain resident Oliver Deutschmann from Germany. Local support comes from Mike Ravelli & Miss Melera, Freddy Spool, Daan Donk, Ferro, Ici Sans Merci and many, many more. Go make out with Heidi and dance on bare feet.

Sunday: Breakfast Club with Petre Inspirescu & Marcelus @ Club Home

Tom Liem, Brent Roozendaal, Jaime Frias and Tommy Kornuijt are the originators of the Breakfast Club. According to the latter, the Breakfast Club is all about vinyl, analogue music and early-morning sessions. On Sunday morning their after party will take place at the renewed Club Home, starting at 6am until 4pm. That’s right, who said anything about Berlin? Why is this not your usual after party? Well, because Petre Inspirescu and Marcelus are flying over for starters. Read all about the whole idea behind the Breakfast Club in our upcoming interview with Tommy Kornuijt later today. For all you after party fans, you can expect a proper breakfast to continue raving! Enjoy the hangover Amsterdam!
