Nowadays everyone has a smartphone, clever right? But without starting a massive moral debate on how digital we’ve become and that our DNA is changing from XY to 01, let’s see how we can put all this technological enlightment to good use. Mediamatic, always at the front of the line when it comes to hi-tech activity, will be hosting a presentation of a workshop called Designing Social Cities of Tomorrow.

How can we make use of new media technologies in order to make our cities more social, rather than just more hi-tech?

For three days, engineers, architects, philosophers and designers will gather around a big old table and throw ideas to and fro. The workshop, organized by Virtueel Platform and The Mobile City, will focus on four case studies to see what the possibilities are for digital interventions. All of the gathered information will be presented on February 16th at Mediamatic. The following day the Social Cities of Tomorrow conference will be held at the MC Theater.
