Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: BlackOut @ Studio 80

This Friday it’s time for this year’s first edition of Dekmantel’s strictly house orientated night BlackOut. For the occasion they’ve invited renowned UK house artist Joy Orbison. By now you must’ve heard of him, right? He’s been a leading artist representing the UK funky sound for the past three years. Accompanying him: Casper Tielrooij, Michael Jacques, Beesmunt Soundsystem and Tijn Benedek. Expect nothing but qualitative, refreshing and innovative house music in the dark but always intimate Studio 80.

Wanna join in on the madness? Comment with your favourite house track of the past year on this post on our Facebook to win 2×2 tickets!

Friday: Azari & III + Night Voyage @ Paradiso

Azari & III are Toronto producers Christian Farley, aka Dinamo Azari, and Alphonse Lanza, aka Alixander II, with additional vocals by Fritz Helder and Cedric Gasiada. They have grown to be one of house music’s most important ‘live bands’ throughout the past year, hitting the major charts with their anthems ‘Hungry For The Power’ and ‘Reckless (For Your Love)’. This Friday they’ll be rocking our city’s most legendary stage, including a proper afterparty. Showtime will start around 7pm and the following night will lead you to Tom Trago’s Night Voyage party, featuring Tom himself and special guest Benny Rodriques. Second area hosted by Dog Day Disco, sounds like a full meal to me.

Saturday: Voltt @ Paradiso

Finally, this Saturday it’s time for yet another impressive party at Leidseplein’s Paradiso. Yes my friends, Voltt is back with a line-up that would please any tech-house lover in Amsterdam. Who are we talking about? Conforce (live), Ricardo Villalobos, Daniel Stefanik and of course Voltt resident Bart Skills on the main stage. There’s more to the night at Paradiso’s basement with Deventer Dub Sessions’ Ferdi Blankena & Sense Unique, Tim Woestenenk and Ronnie Baxter. This one has after party written all over it. To learn more read this interview with Mr. Skills we also published today. I say enjoy the hangover!
