In the 9 Straatjes many hidden treasures are to be found. If you know where to look, that is. The Darling is one of these precious secrets: a store where you can shop for clothes on the first floor and eat sweet delights in the adorable second floor cupcake café. A better combination than vintage and cupcakes? I can’t think of it. This store makes you feel as if you’re a child in a candy store, and we all should feel like this a bit more often if you ask me.

This sugar sweet shopping paradise, as The Darling calls itself, has a varied mix of clothes, accessories and jewellery. All unique pieces from carefully selected brands, and both designer and vintage pieces are available and all for an affordable price.

Cupcake delights

Shopping can be pretty exhausting, so the cupcake café on the second floor is the perfect place to let all those vintage impressions sink in and have a rest. And what is a better way to do this than with a cupcake which looks like a little work of art? Of course the café offers more than just cupcakes. For those who desire something else, Macarons, coffee, tea, and fresh juices are available as well.

Community hangout

Besides great clothes and delicious treats The Darling has a lot more to offer. It hosts home theatre nights with live music, pimp your cupcake workshops, clothing swaps, customizing workshops including knitting lessons, and you can celebrate anything worth celebrating there. This all while enjoying a cupcake and tea of course. I know where I’m celebrating my birthday in march!
