Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: De Nachtdivisie @ Chicago Social Club

Before I elaborate on all the festivities for the first official weekend of 2012, I wish you all the best of clubbing this year. To kick of with, Chicago Social Club’s Nachtdivisie is organizing an extra large new years get-together. Think glitter, ties, fancy hats and Amsterdam’s most good-looking house DJs Tim & Ties, Mulla, Mailman, Hellie Berry, Some Chemistry (aka me), Tijn Benedek, l’Atelier and Grhythm. Cheap and cheerful, support your local scene!

Friday: Colors @ Trouw

This Friday Colors is organizing a special ‘night with DJs only‘ at their UK dub temple Trouw. Why? According to Colors, the art of DJ is dissolving due to DJs being booked only for their production skills in the studio. This time, it’s all about track selections and setting the right vibe for the crowd. For the occasion they’ve invited ‘friends of the show’ Jackmaster, Ben UFO and Oneman from the UK. Of course resident Cinnaman will also be present to complement this list of DJ masters of UK bass.

Friday: BLOCKPARTY @ Club Up

In this weekly night guide there’s always room for the fresh, innovative parties around town. For instance this Friday’s BLOCKPARTY by the Few Kids On The Block. Their 2011 was pretty successful with numerous parties, including one during ADE featuring TWR72, Rubix and Quinten909. The first 50 visitors to this event will enjoy a free glass of Champagne, but there’s more: they’ve got an exclusive 3,5 hour set by resident Lars Vegas and a set by his guests Loopalike. Plus a nice set of visuals by Aintsane. Did I mention their lifestyle blog FKOTB.com?

If you feel like checking this one out, comment on this post on our Facebook with your motivation to go and we’ll give 2 winners 2 tickets. Winners will be announced Friday around noon.

Friday: Resident Night @ Studio 80

Another party worth checking out this Friday is Studio 80’s Resident Night. I had to mention it because they’ve brought along Haito to do both a live and a DJ set for the occasion. If you don’t know him, I’ll tell you he’s worth a spin once in a while. Supporting him will be Vincenzo, Camiel Daamen, Unders and Haarlem’s precious export product Miss Melera.

Saturday: BOB: Bewust OnBewust @ Club Lite

The only party worth checking out this Saturday is the new concept BOB: Bewust OnBewust. If only for the sake of supporting your new years resolutions (live healthier, do less drugs & alcohol, stop smoking, etc..). Every performance will be live at this event. Before Some Chemistry (that’s me) hits it off at 11pm, there will be a very interesting workshop starting around 9pm. For 100 of you curious people, there will be a special 1,5 hour organic dance warm-up that will teach you how to go mental without using alcohol or drugs in a club. After that it’s all about getting high on natural stimulating products lead by the beats of Arjuna Schiks, Satori + Fatfingers, Daniël Zuur, La Vondel and myself. Have a healthy weekend!
