About the author
Lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, is a world traveler, sees art as an expression of freedom, thinks musicals are so annoying they are not allowed to be categorized as part of our culture, and loves those moments where you lose track of time.

I know I Love Vintage, and if you’re anything like me, you probably love vintage as well. It seems as if everybody loves vintage these days, and with valid reasons. Vintage makes you feel as if you’re wearing something real and exclusive. In comparison to seeing six other girls wearing the same skirt made in a mass-production, this feels like a relieve, and a privilege. This exclusivity can be found and bought at I Love Vintage, a charismatic boutique and atelier combined at the Prinsengracht.

Currently, the ILV collection consists mainly of vintage clothing from the ’20s, ’50s and ’60s. A significant part of the collection is authentic and consists of original pieces that are one-of-a-kind. These were all selected by devoted vintage buyers, which adds to the exclusiveness of the store and makes you feel original when you wear an item.

Unique concept

The thought behind this boutique is quite unique. At ILV, the customers are teleported to an era where shopping was still an exclusive experience. ILV believes that every single woman, sometimes deep down, is sophisticated. This ‘inner goddess’ needs to be supplied with tastefully designed choices. ILV decided to use their love for vintage for the greater good and made it their mission to make women feel as if they are beautiful and alluring divas from the amazing early decades of the 20th century. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?
