Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Pleinvrees @ AIR

Last time Pleinvrees took place at AIR, it was a hot night. Sweat was dripping from the ceiling and mirrors were misting. Someone even joked about the lack of air; a funny allusion to the name of the club. Yet, Pleinvrees offers the best of contemporary warm and melodic electronica in town. With contributions by none other than our friends AKA AKA —who you might know from our Next Monday’s Hangover festival last summer—, Einmusik, Olivier Schories, Arjuna Schiks and Miss Melera. Note that this will be the last Pleinvrees you’ll be experiencing until spring 2012 so be there early to score one of the remaining 150 tickets at the door!

Oh yeah, there’s an after party until 12:00 with even more AKA AKA for the real die-hards.

Friday: Awesome By Default Supersized! @ Chicago Social Club

At the Chicago Social Club, it’s time for a night filled with UK bass music. For this extra large edition of AWESOME BY DEFAULT the men behind Boston Strip and Audio Culture are flying over two massive Amsterdam debutants for your eager ears! Who? Eats Everything (UK) and Redinho (live, UK), with support from the local residents. As they put it: “Think classic house, UK bass, detroit, booty and a bunch of other cool sounding genre’s, then pour on some more bass and you’re still nowhere near close to the happy meal of awesomeness these men are going to lay down for your enjoyment.”

Saturday: Boatrave King of the Seas @ Moby King

A party Boat, three areas, local heroes Olene Kadar, Ille Bitch, Sandrien, Ici Sans Merci, William Koster, Azzouz&Alvi, Boxed, Roman Coskun and no weather dependency. Can’t really go wrong huh? Specially not if you’re into raving, techhouse, deephouse and techno. Just like their very successful editions of Chateau Techno and Hoogwater, this one will leave you craving for afterparty. I’m sure they’re working on providing one, it’s their speciality after all!

Saturday: Late Night Society @ Trouw

“Since august 2010 Late Night Society has been the party that brings you style with a small trashy side to it. Unparalleled editions have been the Visionquest all-nighter, the great DJ set by hit machine Maceo Plex and the palm tree filled edition when Jamie Jones came around for a Hot Creations showdown.” This time around, LNS bring along Parisian house instigator Jef K alongside the two hosts Boris Werner and William Kouam Djoko. Djoko is going to do his first ever live appearance in Trouw, a performance he is well known for, but has never done before at his own temple of house. Something worth looking out for. By the way, expect an interesting interview with him and Boris very soon on Overdose.am! Have an epic hangover Amsterdam!
