Starting tonight, the cult crowd of Amsterdam is getting spoiled again with the three day multidisciplinary festival Het Kabinet. During the daytime, Studio/K will be showing theatre and films brought to you by IDFA. Nevertheless, the real action will happen at night time. All nights feature electronic music, with two electronica live bands on Thursday, Friday night having a dub inspired theme and Saturday night looking like a house non-stopper. True fans will surely already be acquainted with the likes of Motor City Drum Ensemble, Matthew Herbert and The Field.

What can we exactly expect this year? Let me walk you through all days.

Het Kabinet – Day 1

The festival starts off with live concerts of two of the most intense electronica crossover bands out there: The Field (SE) and Walls (IA). Both of which recently released highly anticipated albums and engaged in tours over world to support these. Also on this day, the opening for FOAM talent exposit.

Het Kabinet – Day 2

Day two starts off with three interesting IDFA filmss; A Night in ’67, Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest and a silent film called Der Golem with a soundtrack by Juju & Jordash. Furthermore, FOAM will feature its portfolio readings and the night will bring big things from the future of dub music. Loefah (UK), Pinch (UK), Boddika (UK), Addison Groove (UK), MC Chunky (UK), Awanto 3, Jackmaster (SO), Cosmin TRG (RO), Tom Trago, Cinnaman and the Audio Culture DJs will rock the three stages of Studio/K. A MUST for any UK base lover.

Het Kabinet – Day 3

Finally, the third day and grand finale. For house lovers like us, probably your best bet. During the day IDFA will broadcast another two films: Girl Model & SK1 Ibiza Accident. At night, Studio/K turns into a labyrinth of BPMs and stages featuring none other than Matthew Herbert (UK), Motor City Drum Ensemble (DE), Convextion aka E.R.P live (US), Shed presents WAX (DE), Dekmantel Soundsystem, Tom Ruijg, San Proper, Juju & Jordash and the Night Flight DJs Berend Kirch, Jeroen Kok & Jorrit Weeda. Get your energizers ready to enjoy the day and the all-nighter to the fullest.
