Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Drukpers feat. Todd Terje @ Trouw

Following a string of celebrated releases leaning on everything from kitschy euro sounds to deep funk and latin jazz, the relatively new to the scene Todd Terje has already made his mark within the dance music circuits around Europe. This Saturday the new phenomenon, known for his club hit Ragysh, finally gets to shine at Trouw. Next to the man himself, Drukpers’ own Olaf Boswijk & Job Jobse will be hitting the stage. Hipster house guaranteed!

Friday: Het Kabinet – Day 2 @ Studio K

Man, if you’re into futuristic dub electronica, the following line-up must be one you get your hopes up for. Loefah (UK), Pinch (UK), Boddika (UK), Addison Groove (UK), MC Chunky (UK), Awanto 3, Jackmaster (SO), Cosmin, TRG (RO), Tom Trago and our own local dubmeister Cinnaman. That’s right, three areas filled with the best of what UK bass music has to offer. I can feel the sub-woofers in my stomach already. BRAP!

Friday: Carnivale with Audiofly @ AIR

Ah good old Carnivale, the group of vain long haired fellows that do know how to put down a proper party. This weekend they’ve invited the one and only Spanish/English Audiofly to hit the stage at Rembrandtplein’s AIR. Support for the rest of night is brought to you by a nice list of local heroes such as Lauhaus, ONNO, Wouter de Moor, Jop & Jordi, LoPoll, and Audiobirdz. I’ve been told this will be the last event of 2011 for these guys, so go party like it’s 1999.

Saturday: Het Kabinet – Day 3 @ Studio K

On Saturday, Het Kabinet brings another impressive line-up of electronica rockstars to bring the house down until 6 in the morning. This time, the evening is more house orientated. Just yesterday my partner in crime Rob interviewed none other than Motor City Drum Ensemble who is in preparation for this weekend. Next to this guy, who recently got to produce an episode in the famous DJ Kicks compilation, crazy old Matthew Herbert from the UK will be there to steal your interest for two hours. I also heard Shed will be presenting WAX from Germany and Convextion aka E.R.P will be performing live. The rest of the night will be filled by Amsterdam’s finest Dekmantel Soundsystem (Casper Tielrooij, Jan van Kampen, Thomas Martojo), Tom Ruijg, San Proper and Juju & Jordash. Amsterdam, have a great hangover!
