Smirnoff exchanges Amsterdam’s nightlife with New York’s

About the author
Ridz, advertises, produces indie/electronic music, performs throughout the Netherlands but ultimately always ends up at an Amsterdam based ensemble... then he blogs about all these things.

On the 12th of November, no less than fifty countries will swap and connect with each other to celebrate their nightlife cultures. What does this mean? Smirnoff’s Nightlife Exchange Project links major cities to each other and transforms local party’s into those from a sister city. For example, our town Amsterdam will transform into New York’s infamous night-life. Expect yellow cabs, loads of cocktails and performances by house artists from New York such as Francois K, and Brothers’ Vibe and none other than hip-hop legends Grandmaster Flash and Neil Armstrong. Wow.

Of course, this is all one big marketing stunt. Nonetheless, it’s a big ass production at a monumental location, Madonna is involved somehow, Johhny de Mol will be DJ-ambassador of Amsterdam’s nightlife and Smirnoff took the mad trouble of interconnecting this stuff in 50 countries. Gotta have some respect for this. It’s invite-only to get in, but we have the privilege of giving away two tickets to two lucky ones out there.
