Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Amsterdam Halloween (The Walking Dead Party) @ Westerunie

By Friday, your ADE hangover must surely have passed away, ’cause it’s time for Halloween! Yes, the one legitimate time of the year besides carnival when you get to dress up like the true maniac you are. The biggest Halloween party in Amsterdam (The Walking Dead Party) is being held at Westerunie, Westerliefde & Transformatorhuis. This years’ artists: 2000 and one, Wouter de Moor, Prunk, Egbert-Jan Weeber, Boemklatsch, Tettero, Zombie City (spacegirls) and many more. Fine line-up if you ask me, and the party goes on ’till a proper zombie time (7am), can’t go wrong with this one!

Friday: Halloween @ Pand 14

If you’re into something more obscure, I tell you my friends, be afraid, very afraid. Something truly evil is stirring in the depths of the Amsterdam underground. After rocking the legendary Stubnitz and Flex Bar in previous years, now is the time to go mental at the southern location Pand 14. Featured artists in the Bloody Hell Room: Olene Kadar, Mike Ravelli, Ille Bitch & Dauphin, Paul Sparkes (UK) amongst others. In the Spinnin’ Ghost Room: Ici Sans Merci, Tom Verstappen, Thomas Robson, Roman Nicolai and Delicatesse. There will be a shuttle bus all night by the way! Wicked.

Friday: DMZ @ Melkweg

Of course, not every event is Halloween based this weekend. So for you costume haters and London bass music lovers DMZ is the place to be this Friday. The line-up turned out to be quite impressive, hear me out: Digital Mystikz vs. Loefah, Oneman, Floating Points, Kryptic Minds, Zed Bias, Goth-Trad, Quest, Benny Ill, Sgt. Pokes and Chunky. And I thought dubstep was gonna die soon. Man was I wrong. See you in the mosh pit!

Saturday: Hello ween’s annual birthday freakshow @ Studio 80

Finally, on Saturday, this party is supposed to be the freakshow of the year. Julien Chaptal and David Labeij will celebrate their birthday again in a breathtaking way and this time the Sisters in Crime will participate as well. For the occasion, they invited Melon to play a three hour set accompanied by Efdé and Kerk! & Du Chatinier. Lastly, if you dress up Halloween style, there will be a discount at the door. BAM! Have a spooktacular hangover.
