Ever since Danielle Apice started out in the art-world, she has shown her taste for new and upcoming artists who make their art in an autonomous way. Art that is far from too easy to understand. This doesn’t mean she is not able to showcase art that has something really interesting going on. Starting Saturday the 10th of September, her gallery will move to the Van Ostadestraat, and to celebrate this new hangout she has curated a show by four artists who have recently caught her attention. In her words these four artists ‘are each employing an almost intentionally physical manner of exposing their practice, however in formalizing images they all depart from different principles’.

Tijl Orlando Frijns is one of the artists of Apice’s first exhibition in her new gallery. His art is about a certain material quality, surrounded by a do-it-yourself mentality as seen in the picture above. Other artists are Cathy de Haan, Sarah Verbeek and Sara Campos.

What better to have a Saturday afternoon spent surrounded by art? Go check it out.
