Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Saturday: Chateau Techno @ Secret Location

Aloha! Had enough of all the festivals and raves around you this summer yet? I didn’t think so. Let me start off my run-trough of this weekend’s festivities with Saturday’s ‘Chateau Techno’ party. An underground event with the best in tech-house and techno music at a secret location, featuring 2 areas filled with BPMs by local heroes such as Juan Sanchez, Freddy Spool, Ici Sans Merci and Specker amongst others. This is just one of the many great after parties for all of you warming up at this weekend’s gay pride or Welcome to the Future festival.

Saturday: Italo Elite | Homogenic @ Club Up & De Kring

Second serious choice of gay pride after party on Saturday is a special event combining two extravagant parties in one. Italo Elite and Homogenic to be specific, I’ve been told it’s an absolutely hetero-friendly get-together. The first of which invites a few boys from the hood you’ve probably heard of: Lupe, Martin Duvall, San Proper and Tom Trago. The second has more particular names like Monsieur Plastique, When Harry Met Sally & TESSisMORE, Abraxas, Thijs W (G-Team) and a live act called Heisa. Gaypride, Leidseplein, Heisa, two parties in one… I smell hangover all over the place.

Saturday: Click – After the festivals @ Westerunie & Westerliefde

Holy cow, Click hadn’t impressed me any more at their last few editions but something is really up this time. To start, a time schedule from 11pm to 9am, two locations and a pretty monstrous line-up! Who are we talking about? German producer Guido Schneider (live), local legends Michel de Hey, Dimitri, Remy, Arjuna Schiks (live), Ille Bitch, Philip Young and a Mystery guest to close from 7am to 9am at the Westerunie stage. Might be smart to gather your energisers for this one.

Saturday: Welcome to the future – official festival after @ Studio 80

Every festival nowadays has their own official after party too, as does Welcome to the Future. They haven’t published any names for their after at Rembrandtplein’s Studio 80, but if you take a look at the bill performing during the day it’ll probably involve some serious surprises so I’d definitely recommend to continue to party over here if you’ve still got the urge to bounce for a few hours. Nuff said.

Sunday: Trammeland @ De Amsterdamsche Tram

Finally, to finish off another weekend of festivals and after parties, go chill-out at the third edition of Trammeland on Sunday from noon ’till 10pm. I’ve heard good stories about the last edition and I think I will one again if I take a look at the line-up featuring Anton Pieete, True Identity, Boris Werner, Moog and Maya J. Admission is free if you come before 3pm, after that it’s €5. Enjoy next Monday’s hangover Amsterdam!
