Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: PITCH x klinch: Hercules and Love Affair / Azari & III @ Melkweg

Hercules and Love Affair is a musical project from New York based DJ Andy Butler. Since 2008 they’ve toured so much that they’ve become a key actor when it comes to the ‘new disco’ era. Members include Andrew Butler, Kim Ann Foxman, Mark Pistel, Aerea Negrot, and Shaun Wright. Sharing the stage are disco/house ensemble Azari & III. These guys drop their debut album this June and are ready to show Amsterdam all about the darker side of house and disco. If you didn’t manage to score tickets for Pitch Festival you might want to consider giving this event a visit.
We are giving away 2×2 tickets to this event on our Facebook page too! Just scroll down and look for the Hercules and Love Affair video.

Friday: Rauw – 7,5 Jarig Bestaan @ Trouw

Good old Rauw, a series of consistent parties that got me into listening to banging electronic music back in 2004. This Friday, it’s their 7,5 year anniversary and Joost van Bellen invited a dumpload of friends to help celebrate. Check this out: Joost van Bellen, Wannabe A Star, Bart B More, BEAR, Boemklatsch, B.R.U.C.E, Meneer Broekjevol & Mevr Bloesjevol, Disctwins AKA Dj Everready & Sanyi, Elroy Vanderley, Estaw, Faberyayo, Henzel & Disco Nova, The Heykids, Homework, Job de Wit, Joost van Bellen, LeLe, Lupe, Mightyfools, Miss Bunty, Monica Electronica, Nobody Beats The Drum, Mnsr. Plastique, Rimer London & Cata Pirata, RipTide, Rubix, Sven Prinsen, Tom Trago, VAgE gASTEN, Wannabe A Star, ZZZ. No wonder they’re comparing this party with a mirror ball spinning at 78rpm!

Saturday: RATIO? @ Trouw

Same club, one day later, none other than Larry Heard, aka Mr. Fingers aka the godfather of deep house is making an appearance behind the decks. He was the leader of the influential group ‘Fingers Inc.’ and has recorded solo under various names, most notably Mr. Fingers. Not ringin’ any bells yet? Just listen to this classic. Word on the street is he’ll be doing a 3 hour set for all you old school house lovers. Supporting the guy: Trouw’s very own Melon.

Saturday: Voidd Wildlife Legends – 6 Years @ Studio 80

This week is not a regular one in our city’s club scene, why? Because it’s actually six years ago that dance temple Studio 80 was inaugurated. ‘Till Sunday the place is hosting a series of anniversary nights with all their major hosting parties. On Saturday the guys of Voidd invite a few of their Wildlife Legends such as Dyed Soundorom, Boris Werner, Microove, Eric de Man and Moritz to turn the club into a raving jungle. But the party doesn’t end there…

Sunday: 24 Hour Party People 6 Years Studio 80 On The Beach @ Club Fuel

Lastly, a party on Sunday to finalize the weekend. Especially with this kind of weather outside. Just get your ass over to our town’s favourite beach hangout Bloemendaal aan Zee to fistpump your hangover away at a brand new club called Beachclub Fuel. Again, Dyed Soundorom is in the house, supported by Boris Werner and Tim Hoeben. To add a bit of salt to this line-up the guys at 24 Hour Party People invite none other than Kerri Chandler (!!) with a 3 hour set to leave you with a weekend to remember, or not actually.
