Loyal readers will be familiar with our weekly nightlife guide Next Monday’s Hangover. Really loyal followers will also know we’ve hosted a few events ourselves under this name: a big rave in an old but formal ‘ballroom’ which is normally used for weddings back in March, and the legendary Queensday bash Hannekes Kroon. We’re not stopping there though, we’re on our way up! Our next event? Next Monday’s Hangover – Out in the open, a music-art-fashion festival on Sunday August 14th!
The line-up
Music will be represented on three stages, hosted by the Amsterdam based organisations Pleinvrees, Squz and Lazy Sundays. We’ve already booked about half of the artists, and there are a few international stars getting ready to fly to our fair city. Berlin based duo AKA AKA (live) are getting their debut in the Netherlands for example, and they are bringing their live trumpet playing friend Thalstroem to really take the house down. The Irish but Berlin based Chymera (live) and Frenchman Joris Delacroix (live) are two other foreigners already booked, and they are both a sure bet for heating up a nice summer day in the park.
Local boys Olivier Weiter, Daniel Zuur (live), William Kouam Djoko (live), Pete Bandit & Jason Shae, Ici sans Merci and South District will be there too, and as we all know, these Amsterdam based artists are in no way less than their foreign counterparts.
Art & Fashion
Fashion and art are just as big a part of Overdose.am as music of course, so we will announce our programme in these areas during the next few weeks, as well as properly introducing you to all the artists playing. Stay tuned, this one will be big!
