Friday: Midnight Freaks – Amsterdam Open Air Pre-party @ AIR (3×2 give-away)
Man, have we got a weekend and another massive hangover ahead of us. Let’s start off with this Friday’s pre-party for the highly anticipated and sold out Amsterdam Open AIR festival. Yeah, Midnight Freaks might as well take advantage of two of the quality DJs visiting our town for the weekend; Onur Ozer and a mysterious guest. Perfect party to get into the mood if you ask me, supported by local heroes De Man Zonder Schaduw and Midnight Freaks resident Limon.

Friday: WE ARE E – Ahmet Sisman @ Studio 80
Also, this friday our friends from WE ARE E are taking full control of Amsterdam’s Studio 80. With their new label WE ARE EP they try to offer young talent the chance to make a musical connection with well known international artists through a remix collaboration. This philosophy can be found just as strongly in the monthly clubnight they host in the capitals black underground box. For the occasion they brought along Ahmet Sisman from germany supported by label residents Rauwkost (live), Joey Daniel & Frenk Wiersma (B2B), Olivier Weiter and Arjuna Schiks with a special live techno set. Definitely a must for the local scene supporter!
Friday: Colors @ Trouw (2×2 giveaway)
After their first year anniversary party and a legendary b2b performance by JoyMaster (Jackmaster en Joy Orbison) a few weeks ago, you’d expect the men behind Colors to take it easy. NOT! The word ‘relaxing’ does not appear in their vocabulary, therefore they brought over some more UK funky sounding artists to keep their Colorful nights interesting for the UK-based music lover. Who’m you might ask? Well, Oneman (Rinse FM, London), Cooly G (Hyperdub, London), Redlight (Digital Soundboy, Bristol), Cinnaman (Colors, Amsterdam) and Vic Crezée (Teenage Lady Killers, Amsterdam). Quality UK sounds in the house once again. Sounding juicy?

Friday: Tierwelt Invites John Roberts Live @ Chicago Social Club
According to Resident Advisor, the sole American on Hamburg’s Dial imprint’s roster, John Roberts is supposed to be one of deep house’s most exciting talents out there. I don’t know if I’d exactly pigeon hole him as a deep house artist after seeing his performance during the last edition of Amsterdam’s 5 Days Off festival, but he certainly made an impression on me, especially with his percussion-based track Porcelain. Supporting the man on the mainstage will be Casper Tielrooij & Thomas Martojo and Electronation’s Terry Toner, 2nd room will be hosted by Kreativ. Once again, a must see for dedicated electronic music appreciators in Amsterdam.
Friday: BRUIN – zonder voorbehoedsmiddelen @ Café Olympia
Finally, yes finally, we’re still on Friday. Saturday is all about Amsterdam Open AIR as I said before. If you’re looking for a more bar-orientated ambience, this ‘bruin cafe’ party might be just for you. Ever dreamt of a traditional brown Amsterdam pub turning into a mini-club? Well this is what’s gonna happen ’cause the men behind Pleinvrees have a line-up with local DJs ready starting from 8pm ’til 3 in the morning with music by residents Sir Loin & Mr. Moist and a mystery guest between 9 and 11pm. Sounds ‘gezellig‘, looking forward!
