You know how some people cook in a really effortless way and serve the most amazing dishes? Well, I’ve never been one of those people. To tell you the truth, I’ve never even really attempted to cook in my entire life. This all sort of changed a bit when I received a copy of the new Dutch version of Jamie Oliver’s magazine, which he has just launched in Amsterdam. Of course I knew the man could cook, but I had no idea that most of his recipes would be quite easy to make.

Cooking is a piece of cake

As it turns out, the magazine is a really great gadget for kitchen rookies like me (I even tried cooking one of the pastas and it turned out delicious). The launch was held at Jamie’s Amsterdam restaurant Fifteen, where young chefs served us a lot of yummy treats, while the gorgeous and fashion forward Victoria Koblenko presented the first edition to Amsterdam’s food critics. It was definitely fun stepping out of my comfort zone and enjoying some ‘real literature’ in addition to fashion events. The magazine is out now so don’t hesitate and get yourself a copy if you want to try out the real Italian cuisine!
