Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.
Friday: Edu Imbernon & Friends – Next Monday’s Hangover @ AIR (2×2 give-away)
This Friday, we’re very privileged to co-host this event featuring Edu Imbernon, French superstar Agoria and local heroes Joey Daniel and Ferro. With a bit of help from our friends at We Are E and AIR, we got to ask the young DJ, producer and label owner some questions about his expectations a few days ago. Edu is without doubt one of the most promising talented artists in electronic music right now, hitting the electronic charts with numerous club anthems. Agoria has also been a key player in the deep melodic techno scene for a while, and with these two southern European heroes in the house we decided to properly adjust the club’s ambience into a warm and sweaty tropical dance floor. Expect a misty jungle and prepare to dance with Aztec and Maya warriors!

Friday: Cartel with Rodriguez Jr. @ Chicago Social Club
Another great DJ/producer we spoke to and visited recently is Rodriguez Jr., known for his positive productions and energetic performances. He’s been around Amsterdam a lot lately and he’ll be present at a few festivals this summer, yet you can’t really go wrong at a Rodriguez Jr. show. Supporting him will be Michiel Tettero and the Overdraven residents. The after-party for this one takes place at Cue Bar!
Friday: VIEZE MEID @ Pont 13 (2×2 give-away)
A party for dirty men and women at the western docks of Amsterdam. The ‘Vieze Meid’ (dirty girl) project is sort of an anti-movement towards the smoking policies and early ending hours. What kind of music to expect? Funky Disco and DeepThroatTechHouse played by Aardvarck + Eindbaas, Thea Hygiena & Trees Smetvrees, HAIRYWAX, Kruitspuiter, Bob Balzak and Of je worst lust. Just get yourself a non-suit, forget about underwear and go take a look after visiting Edu Imbernon at AIR, ’cause this one goes on ’till 7 in the morning.

Saturday: Neon Natie op Locatie @ Lanx
Finally, imagine “A completely dark space, with nothing but people dressed only in bright colours dancing away smoothly to techno beats that make them high, entering a magic world of love, rhythm and glowing radiation”. That’s what the guys behind Neon Natie believe in, after you get your Neon VISA to enter the… well, dark room. Don’t worry, there’ll be great names and lovely people in the house like Polly F, Jason Lanox, Robert Powlson, San Proper and Isis.
