As much as I love my home base Amsterdam, sometimes it’s good to step out of your comfort zone and meet with people who took a risk of taking their business elsewhere. From May 11-13, Creative Amsterdam brings together leading Duthc entrepreneurs operating outside the Netherlands with enthusiastic students, upcoming business minds and all other folks with creative ideas. The plan is to celebrate the talent and hard work of these successful go-getters with a varied program: from open design sessions, business dates and export circles to talk shows, an award show and the first Open Studio Night.
Calling all creatives
I’m thinking that three days of inspiration with designers, architects, artists, photographers, authors, filmmakers and other pioneers is a pretty darn good idea. What I like about this project is that the program challenges visitors to be part of the discussions and to take advantage of the business opportunities that are presented. I’ve already had the chance of interviewing one of the guests of honor, Rem D. Koolhaas, also known as the brain behind the amazing shoes of United Nude. You’ll be able to read the interview on Overdose soon, but if you want your chance of meeting him as well, I’d say sign up as soon as you can. And for all the students out there, you can sign up for free for the student program here. Talk about a great way to put those trained brains to work!
