The end of this month, April, also marks the end of most of the press days. Several PR agencies in Amsterdam opened their doors to show us their new collections and brands. Fortunately, the delicious snacks, sweets and drinks they serve make it a lot less hard to bike from press office to press office. Since I got a chance to view all the upcoming new collections, I thought I’d give you a glimpse of what next season will bring, and what we could very well be wearing.
Morrocan prints and geometric designs
During my visit to Cream PR my eyes were immediately drawn to the bohemian Kiboots. These boots are 100% handmade out of leather and kilim carpets from Morocco, which makes them very festival and summer proof. I spoke to designer Marloes Blaas, who also fell in love with the Kiboots designs: “The green one would fit perfectly with my own designs.” Besides the Kiboots, menswear designer Non by Kim showed her geometric designs, with a lot of grey tones and hints of ecru and burnt orange.
Color bomb and wearable art
Spice PR presented several designers who showed at AIFW. Our friend Bas Kosters’ collection was a color bomb, while Jan Taminiau and Iris van Herpen made wearable pieces of art. One of my personal favorites though was a newcomer at Spice pr: Zoe Karssen. I was surprised by her collection consisting of cool graphic tees, sweats and tops. Zoe founded her brand in 2009 in Amsterdam and quickly developed it into a well respected brand. I hope to see a lot more from her the coming seasons!
