About the author
Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.
Friday: Innervisions with Henrik Schwarz & Âme @ Trouw
Innervisions at Trouw: nine hours, two floors. Henrik, Dix, Frank, Kristian, Marcus, Gerd, Alex. House, house and more house! I’ve been a fan of everything Henrik Schwarz has done the past decade, from his solo work to his collabs with Jesse Rose (Black Rose) and Bugge Wesseltoft. A true musician that somehow seems to look beyond house music and beatmatching. He’ll be headlining Innervisions, together with Âme and supported by all of the above. And be sure to have an early meal. Maybe even have it at Trouw, because you don’t wanna be late for this one. Trust me, 8pm sharp!
Friday: Linke Soep Presents Terminal M @ Studio 80
Terminal M Records was started in 2000 to release Monika Kruse’s own stuff. By now the label has progressed and brought new talent like Erman Erim, Broombeck, Luca Morris, re:direct (aka Tony Matt & Sasha Carassi), and well know producers like Gregor Tresher, 2000 And One, Mark Broom, Marek Hemmann, Reboot & Heartthrob to name a few. Featuring the princess Leia of DJ’s Monika Kruse and labelmates Andhim, Marcus Gehring, Jaime Frias and Ermam Erim (live) this friday, Studio 80 is bound to turn into a fistpumping extravaganza.
Saturday: Foxes & Wolves with Todd Terje @ Melkweg (2×2 giveaway)
On Saturday it’s time for the first spring edition of Foxes & Wolves. Hosted by The Wolves ft. Tom
Trago, Sven & Tettero, Casper Tielrooij & Job de Wit, they managed to book DJ/producer and remixer “Todd” Terje Olsen, resident to Oslo’s coolest club Blå. For the occasion we’re giving away 2×2 tickets to go check out the Scandinavian and the wolves, tell us why you’d like to go by commenting on this post on Facebook.
Rebellion @ Studio 80
Rebellion is a team of young artists organizing events through Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. They host an event in Studio 80, Rembrandtplein’s techno temple, featuring Max Matteo, an important player in the Hamburg underground techno scene. He’s supported by the energetic duo StereoSphere and a list of local diskjockeys from around the hood, so expect lots of techhouse, minimal and serious techno music.
