About the author
Hi, I'm Rutger, 26 years old Amsterdam lover with a high interest in photography and music! Want to know more about us (or me) send an email to rutger@overdose.am! YEW!

Just before I was born, 27 years ago to be more precise, the Alhambra theatre at the Weteringsschans and its first Weekend of Terror formed the basis of today’s Imagine: 27th Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival. During this year’s edition, Imagine takes over film theatre Kriterion and becomes the ultimate sanctuary for films within the fantasy, horror, science fiction and animation genres. It’s a festival where you can expect the unexpected and year after year the programme shows that the ‘fantastic’ film has so much more to offer than just a sum of genres.

Approximately 45 long films and 25 short ones will be shown, but Imagine is more than just broadcasting. It also has domestic and foreign guests, presents a master class, reveals interesting common threads in the thematic programmes, and gives hardcore horror fans exactly what they want in the ‘Night of Terror‘. The master class will be hosted by Oscar winner Bob Murawski (editor of the Spider-Man films and The Hurt Locker amongst others) who will also present his montage project Gone with the Pope that’s been going on for 15 years now!

Below you can find a few trailers, one for each genre, and keep a keen eye on Overdose.am because we’ll bring you a personal film guide and a possibility to win free tickets a week in advance.
