Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Wunderbar – The Circus of House @ BC12

After the succes of last time’s Wunderbar party, it would be stupid of the guys from Bar27 not to throw another one soon, so they did. Taking place in the renewed BC12 with its new FunktionOne soundsystems in both areas and going on ’till 8 in the morning, this can’t possibly turn out to be an average party. Kabale und Liebe & Lauhau (B2B), Anonym & our local hero Tom Ruijg (live) will be headlining behind the tables.

By the way, what’s your favorite German word? Let us know by commenting on this post on Facebook to win 2×2 tickets for this event!

Friday: Closer with Pantha du Prince @ Melkweg

Oh my, Pantha Du Prince (aka Hendrik Weber) and his latest album has been one of the major revelations of the past year for me. Black Noise is in my top 5 heavy rotation albums of 2010 and I was seriously blown away when I got to experience all of it live at last year’s Melt! Festival. Bleepage, darkness, low frequencies… see you up front Friday!

Friday: Vrijbuiters ‘Conferentie Oost’ @ MuzyQ

As if there weren’t enough options to go hop on the good foot this friday.. I can’t NOT mention the work that has been put into throwing a massive rave at a rather new location called MuzyQ in the eastern side of Amsterdam. Vrijbuiters managed to get a license to go on ’till afterparty hours in the morning, featuring DOP, Makcim, Krause Duo & Freddy Spool amongst others. Boy, Saturday will be the new Sunday.

Saturday: Day & Night project @ Westerunie

Woodstock 69 & CLICK put together a line-up every electronica lover around Amsterdam will bow for. I won’t even start praising some of the names, and there’s theatre and live bands involved too! Just take a look at the flyer beneath to see for yourself. For this ‘project’ you can purchase both a day or a night ticket, pretty thoughtful if you ask me. I’m really digging these quasi-festivals correlating with the weather outside.

Sunday: Lazy Sundays @ Secret Location

Finally, if you’re one of those underground ‘after’ ravers, there’s no other place this weekend than another Lazy Sundays to go spill the last energy that’s still in you… for 17 hours straight. Yes, it starts at 4am and finishes around 9pm. Instructions include bringing a present for ‘Paultje’, apparently it’s his birthday. Location still to be announced. You know were to find the info by Sunday, right?
Cancelled by the police, the defenders of boring.

Sharing is caring!
