You’ve probably noticed on our front page: Overdose.am has been taken over by Amsterdam International Fashion Week. Such an overwhelming amount of fashion shows and fashionistas just craving to be photographed equals many many new fashion posts. In this one, Thursday’s ‘SIS by Spijkers & Spijkers‘ show!
This season, sisters Truus and Riet Spijkers were inspired by ‘Fast Ladies’, with Amelia Earhart as their muse. This fast lady was the world’s first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932, and fast the show was. The models flew over the catwalk in a very high pace, which occasionally made it quite hard for us to focus on the outfits and simultaneously take pictures of the show. Before we knew it, the show was over, but we were blown away by a vast number of outfits.
The adventurous ensembles on the catwalk featured modern versions of racing and pilots uniforms with knitted dresses, tailored leather jackets and loose fitted pants. Main shades of colour used were black, different shades of blue, ochre, ecru and light taupe. The red and blue ‘cloud’ print designed by the sisters were fresh and blended in well with the rest of the collection.
