Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Onur Ozer @ Trouw

Raised in Turkey, based in Berlin, Onur Özer has been around the block and you’ve probably seen his name on various flyers in the past. I even got hold of some legendary Love Parade material (back in 2006) of the electronic producer in question (beneath). Great opener for a great weekend of electronica.

Friday: Vrijbuiters ‘keurt’ – 100% Kwaliteit, 100% Vertrouwen @ Studio 80

Vrijbuiters have definitely set a name for themselves within our city’s night life. Featuring a fine line-up of local names you’ve most likely bounced around to before.. Say hello to Freddy Spool, Michiel Tettero, Prunk, Reiss & Thomas Dijk, Tom Ruijg, Tommy Kornuijt & Jaime Frias amongst others. Are we still on Friday? Moving on…

Saturday: Ratio with Nicolas Jaar live @ Trouw

This guy has become an ideal soundtrack for “that one girl you met at the club that night”. I’ve been giving Nicolas many hours of plays on soundcloud lately whilst reading and writing these kinds of articles. Apparently I’m not the only one, this event almost sold out. Luckily Trouw saved up 300 tickets at the door, so be early if you want to be a part of it.

Saturday: Extrawelt @ Air

Extrawelt is one of Germany’s biggest minimal techno names out there. If you’re into deep, deep, deep, deep electronics, you can’t miss out on these guys. Not so sure about the venue yet, but I’ll give it a go. Hell of a weekend, tough choices, big names, limited time. Story of my life.
