Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Thursday: Cassette Collectief meets Overdose.am @ Club Up

First and foremost, the ‘weekend’ kicks off with our very own playground of live jams and electronica in Club Up tomorrow. Side A, from 9pm to 11.30pm features an overdose of live musicians getting on-stage jamming along to the beats of Overdose resident DJ Stijn Sadée. Jazz, soul, Detroit, minimal, techno, midgets… let’s just say it will be something Amsterdam has never heard before. Side B will make place for Cassette residents Bert de Rooij and Simon Weiss kicking in the unique sound of.. after party. ATTEND!

Friday: Tierwelt invites Catz ‘N Dogz @ BC12

“Tierwelt offers the possibility to plan an escape from the natural habitat and emerge into unexplored
territory, kept under strict supervision by talented poachers in learning or highly acclaimed hunters.”
Polish duo Catz ‘N Dogz will introduce us into a wilderness full of street bass, disco, R&B, deep house, and more. Local heroes Homework and Terry Toner will amplify the experience into the wilderness. Gather your energy sources!

Friday: Disco3000 @ Trouw

Yes, more disco disco disco this weekend. Disco3000 stands for Deep disco vibes, Detroit house galore and future sounds from the year 3000. I-F, San Proper and Antal, three DJs highly recommended by Resident Advisor, might just get you to go this far.

Saturday: Tiga @ Paradiso

Even though I get a 2008 feeling from this pretty boy, I don’t think it would be a waste of money if spend on the guy. If you’re still into raw electro, you’re in for a proper night with an icon of the genre. Last time I got to see him live looked like this:

Saturday: Yelle @ Melkweg

Yelle is a French singer who rose to fame thanks to Myspace after posting a song titled “Short Dick Cuizi”. After numerous collabs with Crookers, Mika, Fatal Bazooka and Nouvelle Vague amongst others, she’s just one of those live acts that you want to be able to talk about with your indie/cultural friends. Think of Uffie and La Roux having sex.
