Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Stephan Bodzin @ Melkweg

After his recent performance during the last edition of ADE, I have fallen in love with Stephan Bodzin, known for his minimal anthem Liebe Ist. I can seriously recommend this German phenomenon to anybody that’s into the minimal techno genre. Expect lots of electronic toys being used to increase the live experience! Watch the mini-docu below for an impression of his last Amsterdam show.

Friday: Ellen Allien @ Trouw

Good old Ellen Allien, or as I like to call her, the German princess of dance music, will be hitting the stage at Trouw this Friday. I’ve gotten to know her better and better throughout the years, especially during those epic sunrise sessions at Melt! festival. Never fails to keep the crowd craving for more.

Saturday: Wunderbar @ BC12

On Saturday, Bar 27 brings us Wunderbar, this weekend’s one and only all-nighter. Yes, this one will go on ’till around 8 am in the morning! What makes this even more interesting? Shlomi Aber, chosen as Beatport’s artist of the year 2008 and a nominee for the Worldwide DJ Awards.

Saturday: Curious LAB @ Sugar Factory

After the successful kick-off of performance night ‘Curious Behaviour’ in the Sugar Factory, the same people introduce us to ‘Curious LAB’, the platform that will provide us with different levels of live performances and interaction. I won’t elaborate too much on this one, otherwise the whole ‘curious’ part of the party loses its meaning.

Tuesday: Matthew Dear @ Trouw

Most people got to know this guy as a DJ over the past 10 years. This time around, the guy is producing a slightly different style of music, the kind with a band. This hasn’t turned out into a flop, as one may expect, and his latest record has actually made it into various top 10 albums of 2010. Check out his teaser and go see for yourself to stay up-to-date with your indie-electronic-music image.
