Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.
Thursday: DOOM II – Piano Edition @ Club Up
DOOM is a party that features live 100% electronic jamsessions and dj-sets based around a changing instrument. Theme for this edition is “the piano”. A simple instrument with great power and influence on the history of dance music. Early night jamsession, late night party sessions. Cheap and cheerful!
Friday: Rauw Kick Off @ Trouw
Joost van Bellen‘s famous raw electro nights move on from their usual venue Melkweg towards their new location: Trouw. With the cooperation of 3voor12, sweat is bound to drip intensely on the industrial floors of the old newspaper factory. Rauw regulars, expect a change in musical style from now on too, nu-disco is van Bellen’s new weapon of choice.
Friday: EMMA II @ EMMA’s House
Last summer EMMA hosted a party at her garden, now she’s moved on to host one at her home. With a line-up of local DJ’s filling the night until 7 in the morning (on paper) it tends to become one of those things you just want your local friends to know about. Luckily, we consider you all as friends! For instructions on the location, click here.
Saturday: De Nachtspelen – Winter ‘World Record’ Edition @ Westergasterrein
Get your most colourful leggings and wristbands out of the closet because it’s time for the 8th edition of the ‘Wintergames’. This time around it’s all about world records and challenging your way into the Guinness book of ehm. Fun, healthy, great (after)party.
Saturday: Club GZG @ Warehouse – Cruquiusweg 146
Underground party animals GastenZonderGrenzen are back with a long time sold out edition of their Club GZG nights. Still worth mentioning, I’ve never experienced a dull night with these guys. This might be your savior to get into their obscure warehouse party.
