Hi! My name is Faye and I will be your guide through Amsterdam for the day! Enjoys randomness chat, good banter and will help you find the best dealers in fun, food and adventure.

Your local dealer to help you get your ‘fix’ in Amsterdam. From the best tattoo artist to finding the perfect ‘birthday’ cake.

When I was a young lass I couldn’t wait for my mum to return from her holidays in England. At Schiphol I would stand at the gate, anxiously trying to catch a glimpse of my mum.  It was good to see her, but secretly I would check out the size of her suitcase, because I knew that some of my most guilty pleasures were stuffed away in there. Cadbury’s chocolates, HP Sauce, Golden syrup, Branston pickle, Wrigley’s chewing gum and other delicious British products. I would often feel sad knowing that I would have to wait another six months before relatives would come over and bring me more heavenly goods..

Everyone has those products that they love from abroad and most of you can probably relate to a need for Fruit Loops, Cheerios or the legendary Kool-Aid. Luckily a little shop called Eichholtz Delicatessen fulfils our desires! Eichholtz has been around since 1888 and is a gorgeous authentic little shop on Leidsestraat 48. It is noticeable by its glorious shop display filled with beautiful brands from all over the world.

Eef Voskuilen has been the owner since 1982 and takes pride in the large assortment of foreign goods he offers. The shop is one of few to offer products from all over Europe. In the last decade, Eichholtz have further extended their offerings with American and Australian treasures. Eef’s clientele consists of people from just around the corner to people from all over Europe and beyond. According to Eef, the Italian enters his shop looking for cacao, the French for ‘Hopjes’ or ‘Ontbijtkoek’ and the Spanish for cheese and butter. Eef is a true man from Amsterdam and loves to be in the centre of it all. When I asked where Mr. Voskuilen enjoys spending his rare free time he claims to be all over Amsterdam except the Kalverstraat. Personal favourites are cinema ‘The Movies‘ and restaurant ‘A la Ferme

Fun fact: One of Eef ‘s loyal clients from the Ukraine survived the plane crash at Schiphol in 2009 on one of his yearly shopping trips to Eichholtz.
