Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

No tickets for Awakenings this weekend? No worries.

Friday: SUPERMAX (by VAgE gASTEN) @ Melkweg

A new party concept by a bunch of creative weird guys based on wannabe criminalism. Definitely not your ordinary night out at Amsterdam’s Melkweg. Expect lots of dubstep, electro and drum & bass music. Fun fact: them ‘VAge gASTEN’ were recently arrested for using fake weapons to promote this party with the promo clip above. Ha.

Saturday: Paranoia @ Paradiso

Huge representation of Amsterdam’s finest Disk Jockeys: Egbert-Jan Weeber, De Grote Vinnie, Donnie en Sjakie Show, Atomica, Skip & Die and Beesmunt Soundsystem. Paradiso’s small room will be hosted by ‘Hitmeister Pim’s Karaoke Disco Show’. The name of the event says enough, fun for and by more of them ‘special’ people.

Saturday: Oost/Kust @ Studio /K

I’ve attended these parties before, I like them ’cause of their enormous dose of ‘gezelligheid’, plus Studio /K is my favorite place in Amsterdam to have a patio cigarette in combination with a good chat. It ain’t expensive, take it into consideration if you’re near the eastside of Amsterdam.

Saturday/Sunday: 1 Year of Nachtlab + Boris WipWap Werner’s 10 year anniversary @ Studio 80

It’s anniversary weekend at Amsterdam’s legendary Studio 80! First Nachtlab (an establishment to promote the well-being of Amsterdam’s night-culture) brings us their first year anniversary party. Featuring Applescal (LIVE), Olivier Weiter, Wesdex and Mike Ravelli amongst others, should be a good fistpumping extravaganza.

Not ready to hit the sheets big time? The day after (Sunday) our friend Boris Werner will celebrate his 10th year dj-anniversary with a spectacular 10-hour dj-set. This Amsterdam-based dj is known for his deep multiple-hour sets and his ability to fire up the crowd. As a resident dj at Studio 80 he established his name over the years and is now ready to treat his beloved crowd with a special performance. Starts at 2pm, until… hangover.
