Local Vogue is a series of meetings with emerging local fashion talents. These are people who decided to take a leap of faith, live the dream and start their own label. They design, create and show us that when you really want something, nothing is impossible. Previous Local Vogues can be found here.

If you’re going to call yourself a chick with style, you gotta have the goods to back it up. At only 21 years old, Yara made the kind of impression on me that I wished more young bloggers would make: sincere, incredibly nice and packed with a great sense of humor. Yara told me that her personal style is never something solid. She recalls the many travels that she has made with her parents and explained how these trips have broadened her horizon and made her curious about other cultures.

Yara’s home is very much like her personality: minimalistic but filled with beautiful details. She’s not the kind of person who tries too hard to fit in, she just does. I loved how Yara told me about the influence that her parents have had on her sense of style. As a little girl, she would often flip through her mother’s Elle magazines and imagine herself working in such an environment. Now, many years later, she has just finished an internship at Grazia magazine and she can’t wait to explore the journalistic world more.

I also loved to see her giggly and girly side come up when we spoke about friendships. When I asked her about the “Darling” necklace that she was wearing on the day of shooting, she told me that it was a gift of one of her best friends and that it always cheered her up when she was having a bad day. These stories made me realize that this girl is not only a chick with style, but also one with true substance, who could easily be your best friend. A very stylish best friend that is!
