After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next monday’s hangover.
Red Bull BPM Launch Event
Tonight, Red Bull will present the Red Bull BPM DJ Player, an iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch application that will enable any music lover to DJ. For their international launch party they chose techno temple ‘Trouw’ in Amsterdam, where a stellar line-up of upfront DJ’s will perform demonstration sets. Red Bull introduces this special app to clubbers in order to stimulate them to dj and battle at the ‘open deck’ Red Bull BPM events, organized all around the world. So what makes this (sponsored) occasion so special? Modeselektor, Joris Voorn and Nuno Dos Santos will be performing and demonstrating the app! Not the least of names. Tickets are given for free all over the place, bet you can score one at the door.
Jägermeister World Wide
Tomorrow, on Friday, anther branded party will take place at ‘Flexbar’ in westerpark, financed by the infamous German alcohol brand. These guys always manage to book great electro/techno DJs and really get what giving a party is about. I experienced one of the craziest Jägerfeasts a while back in good old technoboat Stubnitz. A year later their party at LANX was shit, it was terrible, it was awful. But I’ll give them a chance to make up for it and demonstrate that they really know how to get Amsterdam going mental. Be shure to get yourself a few free Jägershots though, just threaten to give them negative feedback on Facebook otherwise. Oh yeah, tickets for free all over the place with this one as well, just hassle one at the door.
Berlin Underground vs. Steam @ BC12
On Friday don’t expect to be ready to end your night yet at the Jägerparty… No no, get on your boots and hop on towards Boom Chicago because organizations Berlin Underground and Steam team up for an ultra-long-lasting cross pollination of nasty Rumanian & Dutch musical endeavours. A:RPI:AR label protagonists Rhadoo and Dan Andrei are part of the tasty menu, as well as reputable local celebs Bart Skils and Reiss to name a few. Two areas of stomping underground mayhem will be open for bouncing ’till 8 am! Boom!

An artist from our upcoming festival Next Monday's Hangover - Out in the open is serving you with your weekly dose of electronic music today: Daniel Zuur. He is trying to establish himself as a producer/live performer in Amsterdam, and with his first release and several gigs coming up, you can say he is doing all right at that. His sound can be described as deep techno, with each song having its own unique story told by exciting melodies and by warm beats. Unlike most techno, Daniel's sound focusses more on building tension than on repetition which gives his sets a highly dynamic feeling. (..more)
