Hi, I'm Rutger, 26 years old Amsterdam lover with a high interest in photography and music! Want to know more about us (or me) send an email to rutger@overdose.am! YEW!

When you listen to Fiction Plane for the first time you might think: “What…Sting?? Did he leave The Police for a new band?”. That was certainly what I thought three years ago when I heard their hit ‘Two Sisters’ for the first time. In hindsight, that wasn’t a strange thought, because lead vocalist and bass player Joe Sumner is actually Sting’s son. While listening to their second full length album Left Side of the Brain, I realized that Fiction Plane is more than just the offspring of The Police. For the first time in two years they are finally coming back to Amsterdam for a gig on September 22nd.

Joe Sumner and Sting / Father and son

Fiction Plane had a successful year in 2008 and ended their tour in a sold-out Paradiso in Amsterdam. That concert later became their first-ever live DVD and CD-package, and was named after our local pop temple: Paradiso. But now, two years later, the time has come to really let ‘The Police Sound’ behind them as they have launch their new album Sparks. The Band members Pete (Drums), Seton (Guitar) and Joe (lead vocals/bass) wanted this album to be a true collective effort and I think they have succeeded. I can feel this collective effort from my toes to my spine… But it’s not only because of this diversity. The instant sing-along’s, great guitar play and thick bass lines make it sounds like a really confident record. So… one advice: Come on and rock with me at Fiction Plane this September in the Melkweg! YEW!

The support act will be a new upcoming pop rock band from our home country: The La La Lies
