Hi, I'm Rutger, 26 years old Amsterdam lover with a high interest in photography and music! Want to know more about us (or me) send an email to rutger@overdose.am! YEW!

Every time I see a photo taken by Erwin Olaf, I keep staring at it and can only think: “Damn, this piece of art is just…brilliant”. 60 seconds of not blinking later my eyes usually get very dry, but I still find myself unable to turn my eyes away! Recently, I found out about his photo collection DUSK&DAWN in the Hermitage Amsterdam, even though it has been there since June 11th. The exhibition comprises 12 art works and two short movies and can be viewed until September 12th, so there is still some time left to check them out.

But wait, there is more! Café Restaurant Neva, part of the Hermitage Amsterdam, is organizing a special culinary evening on September 10th, in association with Erwin Olaf. During this evening, Neva’s chef Ricardo van Ede will transform himself into not just a respected cook, but also a respected artist. Ricardo has designed a surprising four course dinner inspired by the white and black colour palette of the photo collection DUSK & DAWN.

Erwin Olaf himself will be present during this Eat Art evening, and if you are going to attend this evening like I am, we will witness a live interview with Erwin Olaf and Michiel van Erp. Michiel van Erp is the great documentary maker who in 2009 made the documentary Beauty and Fall, in which he portrayed Erwin Olaf in a very special way. In this interview, they will talk about the role of food in Erwin Olaf’s work and of course about the thoughts which lie hidden behind DUSK & DAWN.

Although maybe a little bit pricey, you can be there as well! So if you are an art lover, a food lover or just a normal lover, give Neva a call and tell them that you would like to be present. For this special evening there are only 100 seats available. Let’s eat art! YEW!

The four course dinner on September 10th, which includes a wine arrangement, coffee and tea, access to the exhibition and to the interview with Michiel van Erp en Erwin Olaf, costs € 85,00.
