About the author
Hi, I'm Sophie. A 22 year old, with a love for music, art, creative people, strange people and great parties.

Sophie’s choice is a series of portraits of young artists I want you to meet and keep an eye on. Why? Because they are inspiring, talented and doing what they like to do most. They are people with a passion for their art, on their way to becoming the greatest artists of today and tomorrow. The new generation is here! Meet more of them here.

One thing I really like about this 18 year old photographer from Amsterdam, is her age. Or maybe not literally her age, but mostly the young and fresh way in which she portrays the world from her own point of view. The bright colours, the subjects and the people she portrays make the pictures fresh, interesting and sometimes even a little naive. Her frames take you to the world of ‘Alice in Wonderland’, where bunnies happily hop around on rusty old cars, and empty cigarette boxes make the most beautiful patterns on your wall. She shows you beauty in a most unexpected way: in the contrasts between sweet, fluffy, and innocent, in the cruelty of desolated buildings, garbage and rust, and makes you believe her world could really exist.

Violette is on her way to become a great professional photographer. Right now, she already worked as a freelance photographer and she has done some amazing shoots for Blend magazine, Hype Kappers, Open Shop, MASH magazine and fashion designer Bas Kosters.
