I want to share a little bit of Amsterdam fashion week experience with you! During fashion week, I was lucky enough to join the talented people of Fortress on a boat ride through the Amsterdam canals. While enjoying a much needed break from the shows and sipping on some champagne, Fortress gave me an eye opening presentation on how to build your brand by using social media. So if you are one of those dare devils and just started your own brand like we did, here are 10 social media cases in fashion who did it the right way. Follow these examples and success is pretty much guaranteed.

10. Create brand loyalty by presenting give-aways to your readers. Marc Jacobs managed to get 267.884 likes on their Facebook fan page by giving away tickets to his New York fashion show.

9. Allow your readers to connect with you through Twitter and ask for their opinion. Asos gained another 30.000 followers by allowing them to discuss their fashion thoughts on their Twitter page.

8. Give your brand a face and create brand identification by providing your readers with relevant content. Mavi Jeans dedicated an entire Facebook page to the Mavi customer.

7. Open up a dialogue with potential customers and readers. Ann Taylor did this by allowing anyone to register with their mobile phones and receive a special 15% discount on new purchases.

6. Renew your brand image by attracting a new target audience. Burberry collaborated with Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist and managed to make the classic trench coat young again.

5. If you have the budget, set up a cross media campaign and allow your readers to go crazy. Diesel came up with the Be Stupid campaign and encouraged their readers to make their most stupid dream come true.

4. Integrate your website stream with all your social media profiles to create a readers basis. G-star Raw understood the power of bloggers, searched for a new Fashion Week reporter through their website and received 4002 articles worldwide in just a few weeks time.

3. Make your website or items likeable. When people like your items, you can reach your network and reach is amazing. Levi’s received 16.000 likes and 300.983 extra fans on Facebook by allowing their customers to like certain jeans styles.

2. Organise crazy hunts for readers and give them a chance to win something by actively searching for it. Jimmy Choo set up a Catch A Choo campaign and organized a treasure hunt around London. By linking the hunt to all their social media pages, they received 4000 mentions on Twitter, were mentioned on 200 blogs worldwide and received an extra 285.000 fans on Facebook in just 3 weeks.

1. Last but not least: allow your readers to interact with your website and customize their needs. Tobi created an augmented reality dressing room and gave their readers a unique experience.

Now you may watch the video above to understand why this example is our number 1. Enough said.
