Feeling exhausted and going through all the pictures we shot at the shows at 1 o’clock in the morning. There is no denying: Amsterdam International Fashion Week is kicking my butt already at day two.

But I am not one to complain. The official opening was Wednesday and both Spijkers & Spijkers and Iris van Herpen kicked the week off in an amazing way. While Spijkers & Spijkers let the audience sail away on their flowy dresses with sailor print, Iris van Herpen amazed me yet again with her impeccable eye for detail and craftsmanship. These designers made me excited for the shows to come; they gave me the much needed energy to stand in the heat all day long and wait for hours to see a five minute show.

Today was one of the busiest days of the week, with designers such as Marloes Blaas, Quoc Thang, Nicolaas, Ado Les Cents, Jiska van Rossum, Franciscus vd Meer and Oda Pausma giving us a preview of the next summer trends. And so far, it seems as leather, jumpsuits, backpacks and neutral colors are not going anywhere any time soon.

The evening ended with the new ‘Lichting’ show supported by G-star and the price for the new emerging talent went to Marije de Haan. She won 10.000 euro’s to invest in her new collection and is accompanying G-Star Raw to their show during New York Fashion Week in September.

So sure the weather is unpredictable, it’s hot and rainy at the same time and the wait for shows seems endless. But for me, every season during this particular week I remember why I love fashion. Because anything is possible.

I will keep you updated the rest of the week with lots of reports and street style pictures, but for now, without further ado, take a look through the gallery of the first two days. A special thanks goes to the lovely PR ladies who gave me the chance to be a part of this all and to Yoga who shot the beautiful pictures.
