On the warm summer night of July the 1st, my fellow writer Rob and I were present at the official launch festival for Odd Magazine at Pont 13 in the docks of our city’s west side. The Odd crew, consisting of 30 Fashion Institute students, couldn’t have picked at better day for this fashion-orientated occasion. Sunshine, BBQ, Odd people, smiles, water, joy…
What could we expect? First of all, a fresh copy of the new magazine on display. But not only were there magazines to browse through on the docks, a full expo of Odd gadgets and clothing was set-up for sale. Cool, but in the end it’s all about the quality of the music, people & atmosphere at a party like this, not? Time to move on from the dock area into the boat where loud music was coming from. We had a line-up of Go Back to the Zoo, The Relish, The Tunes, 360 Bits and Meisjes Zonder Smaak amongst others waiting ahead of us. The interior was decorated in full coordination with the brand and there was no exception to the 70% female crowd that is common at these fashion events tonight. Rightfully, not one pair of Birkenstocks was to be found at this party (yes!). We chatted, we filmed, we ate, we drank, we danced, we drank, we blew up fire lanterns, we were odd, we had fun.

Peak of the night: Go Back To The Zoo rocked the boat and gave one of the most memorable grand finales I have ever witnessed; literally collectively jumping from the stage into the water. Rock n Roll!
Disappointment: No free copy of the magazine at a 15 euro costing event? Ouch.
