Five sweet years have passed since Studio 80 settled its rebellious roots on Amsterdam’s Rembrandtplein. Since then, Studio 80 has managed to create and maintain a more underground ambiance amongst the more “common folk” clubs of Amsterdam (no offence to the regular Escape and AIR hoppers). This week Studio 80 will have a five day celebration for every festive year spent, starting tonight. You better drag your bum to the square of Rembrandt and be prepared by bringing some clean undies and a long lasting energy level, because it seems this get together won’t finish till Sunday the 10th of July.
So what’s their plan stan?
Wednesday / Katapult: The Heykids, Bin, Sven & Tettero, Round Table Knights and Justin Martin.
Thursday / WKND: Tim Avis, Florian Rath & Matthijs Groos, Tom Ruijg and Lauhaus & Boris Werner.
Friday / Welcome to the Future: Dorine Dorado, Unders, Julien chaptal, Agnes and Vincenzo & Phonique.
Saturday / VOIDD: Moritz, Ille Bitch, Joey Daniel, David Labeij, Daniel Sanchez, Wouter de Moor & Gideon Bouwens, Toni Rios & De Man Zonder Schaduw.

Not your average evening at Studio 80; the pictures to prove
Last week I announced one of my all-time favorite DJs was making an appearance in Amsterdam’s infamous techno-club Studio 80 on Friday. Obviously I was present, so was my fellow writer/camera man Mark; we had a beer, raised our fists, made friends, and waited for hit song Gemini to kick in at around 3 am to summarize the night. Los Angeles meets Studio 80 – The Culprit Sessions with Droog
Dancing on a rooftop in the last glow of the sunset sounds pretty much like something you would want to do always. At least that's what you should do if you'll ever get to see the Culprit Sessions in Los Angeles. That's where Droog performs regularly at their famous Standard Hotel rooftop gatherings. This Saturday, Studio 80 invited the Droog trio Andrei Osyka, Brett Griffin and Justin Sloe to introduce some of that LA vibe to Amsterdam. (..more)
